Submission Guidelines

If your abstract is accepted, your presentation must match the title and description in your abstract and will be shared on the website and in the conference program and mobile app. As this is a professional conference, attendees expect presentations to provide accurate data, evaluation, analyses/conclusions and lessons learned from the research or actual project that are actionable.

Please note that USBI Biochar 2018 does not cover presenters’ travel expenses or accommodations. However, a discounted registration fee is available for all oral presentations.

Submit Abstract as a PDF

The deadline for receiving abstracts is

March 1, 2018.

Abstracts are to be submitted in an Adobe PDF format and no more than 300 Words.

Do not include supplemental materials.

30 Minute Presentations

All presentations are 30 minutes long, including a question and answer period. Speakers have the option of speaking for the 30-minute allotted time, or giving a shorter presentation to allow more time for questions at the end. Designated track must be selected at the time of submittal.

Conference Publication

All accepted presentations will be published on the conference website, program and mobile app. If your abstract is selected, you will be notified via email of acceptance. While specific abstracts may not be selected for oral presentations, committee reviewers may recommend the abstract for a poster presentation. In such cases the author will be notified.

Workshop Proposals

Half-day and Full-day Workshops will be held on August 20, 2018. Workshop proposals are being accepted by the USBI Biochar Conference Committee. Proposed workshops should cover the proposed subject in depth, using different teaching methods beyond podium presentations. Hands-on, highly interactive, in-depth workshops are encouraged and preferred.

The workshop proposal form must be filled out and Adobe PDF file submitted to the committee by March 1, 2018 for consideration.
